Publishing in international journals

Whether writing a monograph or a paper-based dissertation – sooner or later publishing your research will be part of the job. In the seminar, we as social scientists will reflect on the publishing business itself, but the core of the course will be hands-on. We will address topics such as the international publication landscape, writing in a second language, article styles, co-authoring a paper, presenting your research prior to submission, finding the right journal, publishing in special issues, the submission stage, the peer review process, or how an editor’s perspective might look like. Your own work will be in the focus: you are invited to bring along not only your doubts and questions, but also a current publication project to be boosted it in the course of the seminar. The ‘Studienleistung’ will be writing a peer review for an article.
