Beschreibung

The MIN Graduate Center (MINGZ) is excited to invite the new (and not-so-new) doctoral researchers to a Welcome Night. You will be able to get to know the MINGZ, meet your fellow doctoral candidates, and grab a beer. We will provide information on: - How to get started at Universität Hamburg; - How to optimize the journey towards your doctoral degree; - How to cope with stress, planning your career and more! We are excited to announce the following guests.

Maike Ruhnau from the HR department of the UHH will host a session on: Should I Stay or Should I Go? Planning Your Career In or Outside Academia!

As a doctoral researchers you may find to ask yourself the question: When should I start thinking about my career after my dissertation? And how do I even start thinking about it? We will discuss these questions and you will receive information about services the University offers for you regarding your career development.

Dr. Stefan Thiemann from Center for Sustainable Research Data Management, UHH will host a session on: Research Data Management, Research Information System and Open Science

The workshop will provide insights into the topics of research data management, the purpose of the research information system, and Open Science, and will present the infrastructure available at UHH. The research data generated in projects must be documented and securely stored, and should be published in an easily findable manner at the end of the project.

The research information system collects publications, activities, and other research meta-information and serves to present and report the research output that is generated at UHH. Open Access, Open Data and as an overarching theme Open Science are expected by funders, policy makers and society. However, implementing this into practice is not always easy. Therefore, the Center for Sustainable Research Management offers advice, workshops and tools. Don't hesitate to contact us.

Fabian Sengebusch from the department studies and teaching, UHH will host a session on stress management:

It’s okay, you’ve got this. Being a researcher means facing a variety of challenges, including mental health challenges. In this workshop we are taking a look at some of these mental health issues. Our focus laying on stress and how to deal with it. How does stress built up during your doctoral research? What can you do to reduce and relieve stress? Find the answers to these and more of your stress-related questions in this workshop.
