Remote Entrepreneurship Workshop “Founding a business start-up”

 

In this workshop, the participants get a well-founded overview of the most important steps to be taken when founding a business start-up. They will be introduced to essential and effective entrepreneurial tools and methods like Design Thinking, the Business Model Canvas as well as the useful management approach called Effectuation. 

The participants will learn how to think and act like entrepreneurs and discover how they can further develop and refine their key qualifications and soft skills. As a result, they will not only know what the career path of self-employment looks like, but also acquire an entrepreneurial skill-set that will allow them to found their own companies in the future. 

This remote workshop will be a mix of theoretical input and practical exercises to create an engaging learning environment. 

 

Content:

> Round of introductions, discussing participants’ ideas

> Comprehensive overview of the process ‘from idea to business case’

> Idea development/creativity techniques  

> Introduction of Design Thinking & Business Model Canvas 

> Introduction of Effectuation

> Individual and group exercises – developing different ideas, creating promising business models 

> Financial basics of entrepreneurship 

 

Learning Outcomes:

> becoming familiar with essential entrepreneurial tools & steps to develop a business   

> creating awareness for entrepreneurial thinking and acting 

> exploring the option of turning research results into actual business ventures

> understanding how to manage uncertainty as an entrepreneur

> getting an overview of how to found a business start-up and to understand what it means to be self-employed
