Beschreibung

The course Empirical Labour Economics consists of two parts, a seminar part and a one-day workshop.

  1. Seminar part: Participants are expected to regularly attend the research seminar Labour Economics, which is jointly organized by the departments of Socioeconomics and Economics as well as external research institutions and where external speakers are invited to present and discuss their current work on labour, family and migration issues. The seminar is held biweekly on Mondays from 4.30 to 6 pm (for the programme see http://www.wiso.uni-hamburg.de/fachbereich-sozoek/professuren/beblo/04-forschung/forschungsseminar.html). Participants should hand in a written comment on one of the seminar talks (focusing on research design and implementation).

  2. Workshop part: Toward the end of the semester the course concludes with a day-long meeting, where all participants will present their own research ideas and implementation problems, in consideration of the labour seminar papers discussed.
